According to the OSHA website here are the 3 Best Ways to Prevent Falls:
PLAN ahead to get the job done safely. When planning projects not only do you need to decide how the job will be done but what safety equipment may be needed to do the job.
PROVIDE the right equipment. Workers at 6ft or more above lower levels are at risk, employers need to provide the right safety equipment for the job, including ladders, scaffolds, & safety gear.
TRAIN everyone to use the equipment safely. Every worker needs to have the proper training on the set-up & use of all equipment they use on the job. They also need to be trained on spotting & handling hazards.
