"Prepare to Protect. Preparing for disasters is protecting everyone you love."
1. Make a Plan. With your family, plan out what you will all do & where you'll go during an emergency or disaster. Don't forget to include what you'll do with your pets while planning.
2. Build a Kit. Stock up on supplies that will last for a week or longer for everyone in your household. This includes food & water, but also things like flashlights, batteries, first aid kits, pet supplies, etc.
3. Prepare for Disasters. Be aware of what disasters could happen in your neighborhood & everyday emergencies like fires. Make sure you have insurance coverage in place!
4. Teach Youth About Preparedness. Talk to your kids about disasters & emergencies, how to stay calm, & what to do when faced with one.
